The Therapeutic Interventions for Psychosis Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral fellow to study mechanisms of functional impairment and outcomes of psychological treatments for psychosis.  The successful candidate will work directly with Dr. Michael Best.  The target start date for the position is between July 1 - September 1, 2021, although this date is flexible and could begin earlier.  The initial appointment will be for a term of two years with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants must have a PhD in Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field, by the time of appointment, with preference given to candidates with experience delivering cognitive behavioural therapy. Salary will be in the CAD $45,000 - $50,000 range, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The normal hours of work shall be forty (40) hours per week for a full-time postdoctoral fellow (pro-rated for those holding a partial appointment) recognizing that the needs of the employee’s research and training and the needs of the supervisor’s research program may require flexibility in the performance of the employee’s duties and hours of work.

This position represents a unique opportunity to examine outcomes from cognitive behavioural therapy and cognitive remediation interventions for individuals with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. The selected applicant will be involved in delivering cognitive behavioural therapy and cognitive remediation as part of ongoing clinical trials. There will also be opportunity to join projects related to predicting rehospitalization among individuals with schizophrenia and to start new research projects. The Therapeutic Interventions for Psychosis Laboratory uses a variety of assessment techniques including electroencephalography (EEG), neuropsychological testing, structured clinical interviews, and functional role-plays to evaluate psychological therapies.
